Our Story

Hydra Coco was born with a focus on products that promote health and wellness. Most people do not focus on what they eat until a health crisis forces them to. Hydra Coco Co-Founder David, who has always maintained an active lifestyle playing countless sports, had poor eating habits, leading to severe health issues. At the age of 19, David was diagnosed with Diabetes 1. Three years later, he would get diagnosed with thyroid cancer and thankfully beat it. Still, diabetes would ultimately take a toll on his pancreas and kidneys, forcing a successful emergency double transplant. David’s health issues led him to look at all aspects of his life, and his diet shifted to plant-based. David’s best friend Alex, also a Co-Founder and CEO of Hydra Coco, has been working out for over two decades and has consistently preached the power of proper nutrition and hydration. One day after a workout, David noticed Alex making his recovery drink that included coconut water and a blend of vitamins asked to taste it, David already being a fan of coconut water, was blown away by the taste and how he felt after. The drink became a hit with everyone who tried it.
Although we never thought of it as a business, everyone around us did. With the encouragement of family, friends, and fans, we began to organize the company. In Jan 2019, we launched Hydra Coco Sport; a healthy sports drink with no added color and sugar with a fantastic taste. Thanks to our customers’ acceptance, we are in 4 countries and over 3000 stores as of Feb 2020.
